Belichick Comments from Friday night’s game

Shortly after Friday night’s pre-season loss to Tampa Bay, Pats head coach Bill Belichick addressed the media.

His opening comments:

“We are under way. We played a lot of people tonight and got a look at a lot of people. I thought there were some positive things. In the end it came down to the last series of downs. There are a lot of things we have got to work on, but I think there are some things we can build from. Hopefully, we’ll play better next week and have a good week of practice and keep moving in the right direction. That’s one step, we’ve got a long way to go. There are a lot of things we can learn from tonight.”

On the team in general:

“Probably like everyone else, there were some things that were okay and some other things that weren’t okay. I’m sure you could say that about everybody that played tonight and coached. It’s the first game; we’ve got a long way to go. There were some good things and there were some other things that weren’t so good.”

The Patriots have today and tomorrow off and will begin preparations for next Friday’s game against Tennessee on Monday.
