The Patriots held two practices Wednesday, both of which did not include many first team starters. The morning workout featured players mostly on the third string or beyond.

New England takes on a Tennessee team this Friday night which has gone through a rough offseason and preseason. Cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones’ legal troubles have caused his suspension for the season. Quarterback Vince Young – aside from cursing himself by donning the Madden ’08 cover – was involved in a small scuffle during training camp and was benched for the Titans first preseason game last weekend.
The second preseason game usually means a longer amount of playing time for the starters. Last weekend, Brady and most of the first team offense lasted just two series’. We’ll take a look at last years second preseason game to use as a barometer of what to expect on Friday.
During the Patriots 31-3 win over the Arizona Cardinals last August, Brady played for almost the entire first half and went 15-20 for 149 yards after playing for just one series in the opener against the Falcons.

The fourth year pro out of Georgia worked out in full pads on Tuesday and seems recovered from an undisclosed injury. Watson did not play in the preseason game against Tampa Bay and had missed several practices in training camp.
We’ll have a full preview and predictions on the Titans game on Thursday.
