Some changes have been made. Originally Josh Beckett was to face Ervin Santana in the 1pm game. And Clay Buchholz was to face Lackey in the night game. Now Clay Buchholz will make his major league debut at 1pm against John Lackey. And in the nightcap, Josh Beckett will face Ervin Santana.
John Lackey has been off since the all-star break, allowing batters a .301 avg but holding his ERA to 3.54.

Buchholz, who recently celebrated his 23rd birthday this week was 8-3 with a 2.15 ERA with 164 strikeouts between stops in Portland and Pawtucket. Buchholz makes his major league debut a little over 2 years since being selected in the supplemental first round of the 2005 amateur draft. “
