Asante Samuel is Ready for Game Day

According to ESPN.com, Asante Samuel has been added to the 53-man roster for today’s game.

To make room on the roster for Samuel, who was on the NFL’s exempt list and did not count against the Patriots’ player limit, New England released 11-year veteran cornerback Tory James, who in April signed a one-year contract as an unrestricted free agent.
It is still uncertain if Samuel, who tied for the NFL lead in interceptions in 2006, with 10, will start on Sunday afternoon. But he almost certainly will play in the opener against the division rival Jets.
