Baseball Rumors: 4 Teams Offer Lowell 4 years

Mike Lowell has apparently been offer 4 year contracts by four teams. These teams have been said to be Angels, Braves, Cardinals and Yankees.

The Yankees aparently would want him to play 1st base as they also persue A-Rod at this time for 3rd.

The Red Sox have maintained a 3 year contract offer and don’t look to offer more.

Keep checking back as the story develops.

  1. I think it’s the end of Lowell in Boston unless Lowell accept that the 4th year is a team option. I don’t know if the reports are correct but i doubt that the Sox will match 4 years/60 millions…

  2. If Johnny Damon and Pedro Martinez are any precedence for the Sox setting a value and a year to a guy and not waivering, the Sox position won’t change on about 3 years and between 35-45 million.
