Johan Deal: Whose Trade Offer is Better?

Red Sox: Jacoby Ellsbury, Jed Lowrie, Justin Masterson

Yankees: Philip Hughes, Melky Cabrera, and 3rd low level prospect

Assuming Hank Steinbrenner and the Yankees really do mean that their last offer is Philip Hughes, Melky Cabrera, and 3rd low level prospect, and the Red Sox best offer so far to the Twins has been Jacoby Ellsbury, Jed Lowrie, and Justin Masterson, whose deal is better?

This topic may only be relevant until the next time Hank Steinbrenner addresses the press and flip-flops on his Santana stance.

What are the thoughts out there?

  1. The Sox offer is better but as good as Santana may be do we really need him and his historic contract?
