Red Sox-Athletics Japan Opening Series Sold Out

Tickets for the March 25-26 games at the 55,000-seat Tokyo Dome have just sold out. The Boston Red Sox and Oakland Athletics will begin their season there before heading back to the states to finish up the preseason.

The only native Japanese player who looks to have a chance to play out there is Hideki Okajima. Dice-K’s wife will be giving birth around that time and Dice refuses to leave her or make her travel around that time.

It’ll be very exciting to see a whole new audience and stadium. Having spent my whole life watching the same stadiums over and over its fun to see a change. The casual fan might not appreciate it as much as one whose seen it all. It’ll be interesting to see how receptive Japanese fans are.

If you’re still looking to find Red Sox tickets in Japan, they can still be found. On March 23rd the Red Sox will be playing a preseason game against the Yomiuri Giants.
