Dice-K a Daddy, Off to Japan?

A major hurdle may have now been cleared for the Red Sox as Daisuke Matsuzaka’s wife has given birth to the couple’s second child and now it seems Matsuzaka may join the Sox when they travel to Japan to open the regular season.

Dice-K had previously made it clear he planned to stay in America to be with his wife during the birth and not travel half way around the world. However, when his wife gave birth to a 6 pound, 10 ounce boy this morning it makes the Sox pitching staff look at least a little formidable for the two game series against the A’s on March 25-26.

Staff ace Josh Beckett looks doubtful to make the trip due to a tender back.

No name has been released for Dice-K’s new son.
