Dice-K Dominates A’s 2-1

Daisuke Matsuzaka dominated the A’s late Tuesday night, going 6 2/3 innings for the Sox in a 2-1 win. He allowed just 2 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 9 Oakland A’s. Billy Beane must’ve been furious!

Jacoby Ellsbury and Jason Varitek each had 1 RBI to give the Dice-K all the support he needed. He said he wished he could’ve played this well back in Japan last week:

“I can say it in hindsight, but it would have been nice to have been able to pitch like this back at Tokyo Dome,” said Matsuzaka, through a translator.
