Hawk Attacks 13-year-old “A-Rod” at Fenway

A hawk who regularly builds nests at Fenway during the offseason swooped down yesterday to protect its domain, attacking a 13-year-old girl. The hawk drew blood from the girl’s scalp.

The madness doesn’t end there. The girl has a name similar to a famous hated New York Yankees player. Her name: Alexa Rodriguez.

Rodriguez was taken to a local hospital for a small scratch, but was apparently OK. She was understandably shaken up.

More on the hawk:

The 3 1/2-pound hawk has been building nests at Fenway since 2002, but has always been chased out before opening day so she and her mate could find a new home, said Tom French, assistant director of MassWildlife.

  2. Yeah, I just heard about this. I was actually going to write about it if you didn’t. Isn’t it crazy? Too bad the hawk got the wrong A-Rod…
