Sox Take Series After 12-6 Win

The Sox won the rubber match against the Tigers yesterday 12-6.

Tim Wakefield started and went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits with 5 walks, 2 hit batters, and 5 strikeouts.

J.D. Drew finished 3-3 and Sean Casey went 2-5 with 3 RBI while filling in for the injured Mike Lowell. Casey played first while Kevin Youkilis shifted over to his old position at third base.

David Ortiz was the only Sox player without a hit. Big Papi is stuck in an 0-10 slump.

My thoughts: Uh oh! Big Papi is in a pretty big slump to start the season and Mike Lowell is on the DL with a sprained thumb. Is it panic time?….No. It’s still early-mid April. There’s a ton of baseball left to be played and there’s no reason to be worried. Even though it’s still early, it’d still be nice if the Sox could beat the Yankees 2-out-of-3 in the upcoming weekend series at Fenway.
