Bruins Bring Series Back to Boston

With everything to lose, the Bruins battled tonight for a convincing 5-1 victory over the Habs in Montreal. Phil Kessel tied the game 1-1 in the second period. The game remained tied until the third period when the Bruins broke out with four unanswered goals. Glen Metropolit provided the go-ahead goal three minutes and thirty-one seconds into the third period. Zdeno Chara added another goal on a power play in a little over two minutes later, making it 3-1 Bruins. The Bruins maintained control and avoided any late-game collapse to hold on for a strong victory in Montreal.

Up against the number-one seed in the East, the Bruins have risen to the occasion and staved off elimination…at least for tonight. The series now heads back to Boston this Saturday night, in another must-win game for the Bruins.
