Garnett Named to NBA All-Defensive Team

Kevin Garnett – the NBA Defensive Player of the Year – was named to the NBA All-Defensive team Monday. It’s Garnett’s ninth time being named to the team as he helped the Celts to achieve the best record in the NBA during the regular season. KG earned 24 first place votes from the 30 NBA coaches (coaches couldn’t vote for their own players).

Also making the team was NBA MVP Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Bruce Bowen and Marcus Camby.

My Take: Can’t say I’m surprised considering KG took the NBA Defensive POY award. He really changed the way the Celts played defense and was the center piece of a team who led the NBA in nearly every defensive category. Congrats KG!
