Kobasew Gets Three-Year, $7M Deal

Despite suffering a fractured tibia at the hands of a Zdeno Chara slapshot that ended his season, Chuck Kobasew has signed a three-year extension with the Bruins. He was a restricted free agent.

The deal is worth $7 million with an annual cap hit of $2.33 million. Kobasew earned $1.2 million in 2007-08.

Bot Thoughts: It looks like the Bruins are starting to develop a young core of players. All that with a possible Marian Hossa signing, and the Bruins would almost guarantee a playoff spot for next season.
