Hazel Mae to Leave Nesn

Another one of NESN’s anchors is leaving the network as Hazel Mae has said she will be leaving at the end of the month. Mae has been the host of NESN’s Sportsdesk and other mostly Red Sox oriented programs since joining the network four years ago.

It seems like an amicable separation as NESN has given her their blessing for her future endeavors. As for Mae, she has yet to divulge what her next career move is. This all comes just months after Red Sox reporter Tina Cervasio left in March to work at MSG.

My Take: Personally, I was never really a fan of Hazel Mae, she never really made me want to watch Sportsdesk. It’s been a recurring theme as NESN over the past few years of hiring mostly women to do sideline and studio work for Sportsdesk and Red Sox stuff so perhaps that has something to do with it. I wish her luck in the future of course, but is there anyone out there who will not tune in to NESN because she’s not there?
