Bruins Ink Rookie Forward Blake Wheeler

The Boston Bruins signed free agent rookie forward Blake Wheeler on Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Wheeler was drafted fifth overall by the Phoenix Coyotes in 2004, but didn’t sign. He then attended the University of Minnesota, where he played the last three seasons.

Last season, he led the Gophers in scoring with 15 goals and 20 assists.
