Bruins Re-sign Defenseman Dennis Wideman

The Bruins signed defenseman Dennis Wideman to a multi-year contract extension on Wednesday.

Wideman had career bests last season with 13 goals and 23 assists in 81 games with Boston.

He was the No. 2 scoring defenseman to captain Zdeno Chara and sixth overall on the team. He had three assists in six playoff games for the Bruins last season.

Bot Thoughts

Nice to see the B’s lock up some more defenders, but the Bruins could still use another scoring threat. If Phil Kessel can realize his potential, he could fill that scoring void.
