Tom Brady Injured Foot?

Tom Brady told WEEI that he has a foot injury, which has kept him out of the last two preseason games. Brady also acknowledged that the foot injury he has is different than the one that plagued him during the Super Bowl. Brady told WEEI’s Dennis & Callahan:

“(It’s the) same side of the body, and same leg, but not the same injury…I spent some time this weekend getting treatment on it, and hoping that it responds quickly like it usually does.

The key is not to go out there and aggravate anything when I’m not ready to go.”

So as not to create it a distraction, per Patriots policy, no more information was released by Brady, Bill Belichick or the team regarding his injury.

Will Tom Brady miss any regular season action because of the injury?

Unlikely. He had a similar injury before the Super Bowl and he played every down. Granted, the Super Bowl is on a much bigger scale than a regular season game, so the Patriots will remain cautious…and they should: backup QB’s Matt Cassell and Kevin O’Connell combined to complete 12 of 25 passes for 118 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception in the Week 2 preseason game against the Buccaneers.

  2. At least one thing hasn’t changed and that’s Belichick’s way with words. After the game he had this to say:

“Belichick shed little light on when Brady might play.

Asked if he would have played had the game been during the regular season, Belichick said Sunday night, “Well, it’s not a regular-season game.”

When asked if he would characterize Brady’s absence as precautionary, he said, “I wouldn’t characterize it.”

    Classic Belichick !

  3. I just hope that the foot gets better. How come Belichick has not looked for some one decent to takes his place in an event like this? I know you can’t just find “another” Tom Brady but you could try to find something. What we have now I just don’t think it is going to cut it.
