Colvin Signs with Patriots

Here comes Rosie. Roosevelt Colvin has signed a one year deal with the Patriots, making his return to New England where he played from 2003-2006. Colvin hasn’t played a down this year after the Houston Texans let him go at the end of training camp.

The Pats also have placed CB Jason Webster on injured reserve, which made space to sign Colvin.

My Take: With the way the defense has been playing I’m not surprised the Pats made a move. Colvin could come in and provide a spark off the edge in the 3-4 scheme and even if he doesn’t he’ll be no worse than an absent Jason Webster has been.

  1. Glad to see him back. Rosie knows the defensive schemes for the most part, so he should help right away (assuming he’s kept up with his conditioning)
