Bruschi headed to IR?

There are no official reports on the extent of the injury to Tedy Bruschi but the Boston Herald’s Point After blog reports a league source says though the injury isn’t considered ‘devastating’ the time table for his return would be more than the number of weeks remaining in the season.

Again, this all comes from an unconfirmed league source but if it’s correct Bruschi’s recovery would be in the three to four week range, thus making a return in the regular season impossible. The Patriots pretty much need to win out in order to make the playoffs so it’s hard to see the Pats leaving a gaping hole at the linebacker position.

As important as Bruschi is off the field, the Patriots will need a warm body on the field for the stretch. More as this develops…

  1. Wow. Well, good thing we signed Rosie and Seau. I guess if Bruschi goes down…maybe we can bring back Ted Johnson?!!?!
