Patriots Miss Out on 2008 Playoffs

It’s tough to be upset when I’m right on a prediction but with the Dolphins and Ravens both winning today the New England Patriots are the first team to finish 11-5 and not make the playoffs since the current format was instituted. The Ravens jumped on the Jags early and cruised to victory while the Jets stayed close to the Dolphins but offensively could not get a rhythm.

In what was probably – and hopefully – his last NFL game, Brett Favre went out and stunk it up, going 20 for 40 with 230 yards, 1 TD and 3 INTs, including a pick in the first half which was returned for a TD.

I’ll have a verdict of the Bills win and position reviews for the 2008 season this coming week.

  1. What a shame. only five teams in the NFL were better than 11-5…

It makes me absolutely sick to see the 8-8 Chargers and 9-7 Cardinals limp into the playoffs.

  2. I can’t believe they didn’t make it. They had a good run this season with all the set backs they had to deal with.

  3. It just can’t be over already, the playoffs won’t be the same without the Pats in the mix. Arizona, Chicago, San Diego??? Borrring. Bret Favre stinks. I wouldn’t be surprised if he shows up with his arm in a sling, blaming his performance on his shoulder. Another example of ego pushing someone to play beyond their productive years – go home Brett!

  4. Arizona would have won 10 games if they hadn’t decided to slack off in recent weeks. Cardinals have a great offense and only dogged it becasue they didn’t have to win.

As for Favre, I can’t wait to have him as a Patriot next season along with Isaac Bruce and Fred Taylor.

    Chea!
