Scalabrine Out With Concussion

The Celtics will be without forward Brian Scalabrine indefinitely after he sustained his second concussion in three days.

In seemingly no danger of missing the playoffs, the Celtics can afford to be without Scal while he heals up, but if they lose another man of his size (6’9″), then they may be in trouble. Scal filled in admirably at center while Kendrick Perkins was nursing a shoulder injury.

He may be the punchline in C’s fans’ jokes, but Scal can bring some stuff to the table. Donny Marshall put it best during his interview with WEEI’s Dale and Holley program today: (im paraphrasing) ‘Eddie House can be inconsistent, and Tony Allen can be too at times. When was the last time you were mad at Brian Scalabrine for doing something stupid?’ Good point. Scal will be missed…
