Favre Set to Retire

In the on again, off again cycle of Brett Favre’s career the current mood seems to be off. Sources are reporting Brett Favre has told his agent to tell the Jets he plans to retire from the NFL – again. Favre did a similar song and dance after last season, only to come back and play one more unimpressive year with the Jets as the Mean Green stumbled down the stretch and missed the playoffs.

My Take: Before I do any celebratory fists pumps, until the 2009 season starts without Favre, I won’t be taking him as his word. As a Patriots fan, it’s sort of bittersweet because the Jets were going nowhere with him at the helm.

  2. I’d say it’s still 50-50 whether he returns or not.
