Schilling Interested In Return with Rays, Cubs

According to Yahoo! Sports, Curt Schilling has no plans to be on a Major League roster for Opening Day, but would be interested in a mid-season return to baseball.

From the Yahoo! report:

Appearing in ESPN The Weekend activities Saturday at Disney World, Schilling told the paper “the challenge would be in a place like Tampa Bay or Chicago,” and he could be lured back for another season. Money is not a major factor, the report stated. Schilling, 42, missed all of the 2008 season with a shoulder injury.

Reaction: Personally, I think Schilling is done. He had major shoulder surgery in his early 40’s. For any pitcher, that’s a career-killer. To top it off, Schilling now blogs for and regularly appears on the radio station. It seems to me he’s moving on, but apparently he’d love to pitch one more season.
