Flyers Beat Bruins on Eve of Trade Deadline

In perhaps his final game as a Bruin, Manny Fernandez allowed four goals on 26 shots in a 4-2 loss to the Flyers. Fernandez, who will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, could be traded before Thursday’s deadline while the B’s search for defensive depth.

Simon Gagne finished with two goals and an assist, and former Bruin Mike Knuble finished with one goal and two assists as the Flyers scored three third period goals to blow the game wide open.

Patrice Bergeron, the subject of a few trade rumors himself, got the Bruins started with his seventh goal at 14:25 of the first period. Flyers winger Scottie Upshell answered with a goal just two minutes into the second period.

The Flyers then scored three goals in the third period. Gagne scored his 25th at 2:22, Knuble added his 22nd three minutes later, and Gagne scored his second of the game at 16:26 to cap the Flyers scoring.

Stephane Yelle scored his seventh goal with less than a minute remaining in regulation, but by then it was too late.
