Patriots Sign Joey Galloway

The Patriots added to their depth at wide receiver by signing 37-year-old Joey Galloway to a one-year deal.

Galloway’s agent confirmed the signing to Tampa Bay radio station WDAE. By email, the agent said Galloway’s decision to sign with New England was “simple” because it was a “compelling opportunity to play for a premier owner, organization, team and coach.”

Last season, Galloway was limited due to injuries, finishing with just 13 catches for 138 yards. During a three-year stretch from 2005-2007, he had three 1,000-yard seasons with 23 total touchdowns.

Reaction: Despite his age, Galloway is still one of the fastest receivers in the NFL. He can really stretch the field for Tom Brady. With Randy Moss, he can really make a lot of space in the middle for Wes Welker.

  1. I love this signing. Always liked Galloway and he has a bit of a chip on his shoulder now.

  2. I’ve always loved Galloway and love this pickup. He’s got a chip on his shoulder and still seems in great shape for his age. Another weapon for Brady and another good attitude guy.
