Update: Looks like we will have to wait a bit longer for the season to officially start. Today’s game has been postponed to tomorrow at 4:05PM.
The long and painful wait after losing Game 7 of the 2008 ALCS is over, as the Red Sox are now set for their first MLB Opening Day game at Fenway Park since 2002.
Josh Beckett is scheduled to take the mound against Rays righty James Shields.
But, there is a real threat of rain that should arrive after 3 p.m., so it remains to be seen how many innings the Sox and Rays will get in.
Ted Kennedy could throw out the ceremonial first pitch, and Seal is ready to sing the national anthem.
