Fenway Park to Host NHL’s Winter Classic

Boston’s Fenway Park, home of the Red Sox, will likely hold next season’s third annual NHL Winter Classic on Jan. 1, 2010. A source close to negotiations between the Red Sox and the NHL confirmed the news on Thursday.

The Bruins will likely host the rival Montreal Canadiens in the game.

Reaction: I am psyched about this. Can you imagine a hockey rink in the middle of Fenway Park? It seems completely outrageous, but it’s bound to happen now. I just can’t imagine seeing the Green Monster peering over a little hockey rink. With those seats be up for grabs?
