The Patriots continued a very active day, trading with the Raiders to acquire the 40th pick, in front of their own 41st pick. To move up seven spots, the Patriots traded away a fourth and sixth rounder. With the newly acquired selection, the Patriots went to their own backyard to pick the Eagles’ Ron Brace. With the 41st selection, the Patriots again did not look far, taking UConn cornerback Darius Butler.
