Red Sox ex-slugger David Ortiz was dropped to the sixth spot in the batting order and will play at his customary DH position Tuesday night against the Twins. Batting third instead will be right fielder J.D. Drew.
Everything else in the lineup remains largely unchanged, but that could be different with Mike Lowell in the lineup. Lowell is getting the day off Tuesday against the Twins. We’ll see if this helps Ortiz bust out. At the very least, it puts a much hotter hitter (Drew) in the sweetest spot (No. 3) in the lineup.

The guys looks done, if you don’t see him pick it up you’ll definitely see a deal made and Ortiz head to the pine. He can’t catch up to fast balls anymore and looks like he’s guessing up there.
Some of it has to do with injuries but if you pay attention, it looks as though pitchers are finally, after years of giving up homer after homer to him, realizing that they probly shouldn’t pitch it down and in to him!
Ortiz should be dropped to Pawtucket to work on his swing but his big ego won’t allow that.
