Kevin Garnett Surgery Successful

Celtics star Kevin Garnett underwent successful knee surgery Monday in Boston, and is expected to be out for the next 6-8 weeks. KG will reportedly rehibilitate in Boston before spending his off-season in California.

Fortunately for the C’s, Garnett is expected to be ready for the start of training camp.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers said in a statement, “I expect Kevin to return to active duty in full force and be that consummate two-way professional that he has shown all of us throughout his fantastic NBA career.”

With the exception of the NBA lockout-shortened season in 1998-99, Kevin Garnett never played less than 76 games in any season of his 14-year career, except for this past season. In 2008-09, KG played 57 games and averaged 15.8 points and 8.5 rebounds.
