The Celtics announced Wednesday that guard Tony Allen underwent successful arthroscopic right ankle surgery and posterior tibial tendon repair at the New England Baptist Hospital. The C’s expect a full recovery and for Tony to be ready by the fall.
Hopefully Allen can get it together this season and stay on the court. He’s a good perimeter defender and is good at getting to the hoop, so there’s some value with Tony on the bench. I would love to see him develop a mid-range game, but at this stage of his career, it seems less and less likely.
