Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli has earned an extension through to the 2013-2014 NHL season. Chiarelli has helped to take the Bruins from the fifth-worst team in the NHL, three season ago when he started, to the second-best record this past season.
About the extension, Chiarelli said:
“For them to have said to me at one point in the year, ‘We’re going to extend you,’ that was all I needed to know,” Chiarelli said Tuesday, one day after the Bruins announced the agreement. “I’m very happy to be here and want to be here for a long time.”
Bruins head coach, Claude Julien, is also expected to have his contract extended this off-season. “I’m going to sit down with Claude and we’ll get something done shortly,” Chiarelli said.
Now let’s see if the Bruins can hold onto Kessel and co.

This was an easy move for Bruins ownership. Chiarelli has done a fantastic job since his arrival. Four more years!
