Vince Carter to Orlando

Vince Carter

According to the Newark Star-Ledger, the Orlando Magic have traded for SG Vince Carter.

The Deal

Orlando Magic Receive:

  • SG Vince Carter
  • PF Ryan Anderson

New Jersey Nets Receive:

  • SG Courtney Lee
  • PG Rafer Alston
  • C Tony Battie

Anaylsis

Like Cleveland did this morning, Orlando just added a piece they feel will make them the team to beat in the Eastern Conference. Carter is always erratic as a three point shooter, but he is still a very, very effective player in this league. With Jameer Nelson coming back from injury, Alston really wasn’t needed. I’m sure they hate to lose someone has young and talented as Courtney Lee, but from my view it is a very fair deal for both teams.
