Darius Butler Signs Deal with Patriots

Darius Butler

Locking up a potential future starter, the Patriots have signed draft pick and former Connecticut standout defensive back Darius Butler to a four year deal. New England selected Butler with the 41st overall pick in the draft and he’s the second Patriots 2009 draft pick to sign a deal.

What’s significant about the story is the Patriots and Butler were able to work out a deal early in the off-season and did it with having to negotiate with super agent Drew Rosenhaus.

Butler, 5’10″, 183 pounds, was a four year starter for UConn and made 10 career interceptions.
