Red Sox Trade Mark Kotsay to White Sox

The Red Sox completed a trade with the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday, sending designated OF/1B Mark Kotsay to Chicago for OF Brian Anderson. Anderson had been with Chicago’s Triple-A affiliate, but there’s no word on whether he’ll head to Pawtucket or the major league roster in Boston.

Anderson, 27, was hitting .238 with two HR’s and 13 RBI. He was originally dubbed the White Sox center fielder of the future, but he never panned out in that role and was optioned down earlier this season.

Kotsay, 33, hit .257 with one HR and five RBI in 27 games with the Red Sox.
