Kevin Youkilis Suspended Five Games

Kevin Youkilis and Rick Porcello

Espn.com reports that Red Sox 1B/3B Kevin Youkilis has been suspended five games for his involvement in the brawl that took place on Tuesday night against the Detroit Tigers. Detroit pitcher Rick Porcello, who threw at Youkilis, was also suspended five games. Porcello has appealed the decision, but Youkilis will start serving his suspension tonight.

Detroit pitcher Edwin Jackson was fined an undisclosed amount for “aggressive actions”.

Mike Lowell looks to get the start at 3rd base with Youkilis out and Victor Martinez will hold down the fort at first base.
