Red Sox Send Down Tazawa, Call Up McBeth

The Red Sox sent down starter Junichi Tazawa Saturday, and called up reliever Marcus McBeth, who last pitched in the major leagues in 2007 with the Reds. Tazawa was 2-3 with a 6.65 ERA in five games (four starts), and will probably be back in September. For now, he was sent to the Rookie-Level Gulf Coast League Red Sox.

McBeth was called up earlier this season from July 31 to August 1, but did not get into a game.
