Florida and Texas had the week off and their inactivity was the Crimson Tide’s gain as Alabama’s win over Kentucky was enough to finally push them past Texas into the #2 slot in our rankings and earned a first place vote, the only one not cast for the Gators all season. The SEC is showing tremendous strength with three teams in the top four, but conference play is coming in force, beginning with Florida-LSU this weekend, so the rankings will really start to sort themselves out…or chaos will reign. Miami’s upset over Oklahoma, capping a 3-1 start to the season against four ranked opponents, was enough to re-enter them in our Top 10.
