ESPNBoston.com is reporting Patriots runningback Fred Taylor is going to undergo right ankle surgery. The severity of the injury hasn’t been disclosed but sources are saying the surgery – barring complications – shouldn’t keep Taylor out for the rest of the season. However, he will definitely miss some time
Taylor, 33, played in limited action on Sunday after rushing for more than 100 yards against the Falcons two weeks ago. He hurt the ankle on his final carry against the Ravens.
My Take: This news isn’t what the Patriots were looking for. Taylor has given them some hard running so far this year and with the struggles of Laurence Maroney, fans would like to have all their weapons available for this weekend’s showdown at Denver. Only time will tell how serious this turns out to be.
