Florida is once again the unanimous number one team at Sports of Boston. Alabama’s lackluster win was enough to cost them their first place votes, but leaves them a unanimous second and Texas remains the third team on every ballot. Boise State and USC have been deadlocked for a few weeks now and the big mover of the week was TCU, which moved up three spots to sixth. The pollsters seemed to be very impressed by a big win on the road over a good BYU team.
Pollsters are SoB’s Brian, Erikk, KC, and Mike and comments were gathered with the votes. The ballots are available.
|1||Florida (4)||40||1||Mike says, ‘Took advantage of Alabama’s close win to re-solidify first place.’|
|2||Alabama||36||2||KC says, ‘Too close of a win against Tennessee.’|
|3||Texas||32||3||Erikk says, ‘The Longhorns beat the once 4-0 Missouri Tigers 41-7 after jumping to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter. It was over before it started.’|
|4 (tie)||Boise State||22||4||Mike says, ‘An Oregon win over USC this weekend will keep the Broncos hopes up.’|
|4 (tie)||USC||22||4||KC says, ‘Barely beat Oregon State, why all the love?’|
|6||TCU||20||9||Mike says, ‘Clemson and Virginia were BCS conference wins, but BYU is the biggest statement to date.’|
|7||Iowa||19||6||Erikk says, ‘They needed a last second TD, but the Hawkeyes are still perfect, not an easy feat in the Big Ten.’|
|8||Cincinnati||16||7||Mike says, ‘Though it did not look like it against South Florida, they will miss Tony Pike if he cannot get back on the field.’|
|9||LSU||12||8||Erikk says, ‘Auburn isn’t the team they used to be, but they’re still a formidable opponent. Just not to LSU.’|
|10||Oregon||4||–||KC says, ‘Gigantic match against USC this week.’|
