Tiger Woods Injured in Car Accident

Tiger Woods

Pro golfer Tiger Woods was “seriously injured” in a car accident early Friday morning in Florida, but was released from an area hospital later on in the day. His spokesman said he was treated and released in “good condition.” He also said the accident was “minor.”

The accident occurred at around 2:25 a.m. Friday while Tiger was in his 2009 Cadillac SUV. Reports said Tiger suffered “facial injuries” and his surgically repaired knee did not get damaged.

From ESPN.com’s report:

The police report narrative said the “driver had just pulled out of the driveway at his residence … as [vehicle] began to drive on Deacon Circle, [vehicle] struck a fire hydrant. The front of [vehicle] then struck a tree…”

The Florida highway patrol said the investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending in the case. They did say that alcohol was not involved in the crash.
