Maine Red Claws Open Tonight, Complete with Live Blog
Tonight begins a new era in Maine sports as the NBA D-League comes to Portland for the first time. The Maine Red Claws will host their first ever home game at 8pm as they play the Springfield Armor at the Portland Expo. The city has been buzzing for nearly a year since the announcement of the new professional franchise coming to a basketball rich region.
Though the historic Expo is the smallest venue in the NBA D-League, the Red Claws have already sold more season tickets than any other franchise. Tonight’s opener has been sold out for some time. The Red Claws come into the game with a 1-1 record.
