Before Testing Free Agency, Johnny Damon To Appear on Raw

Johnny Damon steals 2nd and 3rd on the same pitch in Game 4 of the World Series (Mary Schwalm / mlb.com).

World Champion and free agent Johnny Damon, fresh off defeating the Phillies in the World Series, will be the guest host of Raw next Monday from Fort Myers, Florida. It will be Raw’s Christmas episode, and to that end, Damon will bring some “Secret Santas” with him. Whatever that means, it should be fun.

Damon is the latest in a string of athletes to guest host Raw, though none of them has been so quick to talk about their lives on the court or on the field. But with they type A free agent possibly leaving the pinstripes, how can the topic not come up? With his history and unlikely trade rumors sprouting up, the Red Sox might even enter into the show somehow.

And we all know how Massachusetts star John Cena feels about the sports scene. Other hosts weren’t from New York, but with a black blooded member of the Evil Empire on the show, chances are high of fireworks coming up. Cena recently lost the title but gained Superstar of the Year Honors. With a rematch clause his to use, might Cena use it next week, knowing that it could be the key to upstaging the New Yorker for the day? Stay tuned to find out.
