2010 NHL Playoffs Expert Picks: Round 3

Jaroslav Halak has been the man to beat all playoffs long, and doesn't look to stop any time soon. (Jamie Sabau / Getty Images)

No more Bruins, no problem. At least for the Canadiens, right? They beat two of the best teams around, and now they face a #7 team that just finished beating an injured team, and is down to their backup goalie. And the Sharks don’t do well in the playoffs, but have forged ahead to the Conference Finals, where the surprising Blackhawks will meet them to determine who gets to have a major edge for the Stanley Cup Finals.

With more experience in May, four of our experts have the Blackhawks moving on, while four of us see the Canadiens as a better team than Philadelphia, who had better not let beating an injured Bruins team go to their heads.

As the only one to pick a Flyers/Blackhawks series, our leader KC is in danger of dropping quite a bit. He’s in danger of dropping four points to Mike and a full six to yours truly (the two second place competitors). That being said, anyone not picking both the Canadiens and Blackhawks is in danger of dropping, but also has a chance of surging ahead. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

As before, a correct guess for series winner gets two points while a correct guess for series length gets one point. Whatever happens in Round 3, Round 4 will feature something special for anyone looking to throw up a Hail Mary, so stay tuned.
