2010 NHL Playoffs Expert Picks: Round 3 Results

It took longer than last year, but the Sharks have been humiliatingly defeated again and are gone for another year. (llamabutchers.mu.nu)

That was a quick round, featuring a Blackhawks sweep of the Sharks and the Flyers tossing aside the Canadiens in five. As a result, both teams now have until Saturday to rest up and prepare. It’s not like it was even that difficult for the Blackhawks and Flyers to advance. All SportsCenter could talk about was how this was the best Stanley Cup Finals, because of the huge sports markets in those two cities. The Blackhawks haven’t been champions since 1961, and the Flyers haven’t hoisted the Stanley Cup since 1975, so whatever happens, either the city of Chicago or the city of Philadelphia will be destroyed in a sea of fire and rioting by its own citizens.

Nobody was predicting a fast round, so the series length scoring didn’t come into play. Most of our experts got two points for guessing one out of two winners correctly, while one each guessed neither and both correctly. But it’s not over just yet. A special surprise will be introduced into the scoring for the final round, so stay tuned for the beginning of the Finals, on Saturday at 8:00, or whenever everyone makes their picks to see everyone’s final ballots; KC’s lead isn’t safe.
