Dustin Pedroia put on the laser show on Thursday night against the Rockies, going 5-5 with three home runs to power the Red Sox to a 13-11 win in Colorado. His third HR came with a man on in the 10th inning after Jonathan Papelbon blew the save for the second straight night.
The second baseman brought his red hot bat to San Francisco for a three-game series with the Giants. In the third inning, Pedroia fouled a ball off his foot. He finished the at bat and drew a walk. He was examined by an athletic trainer and Terry Francona, but was pinch run for by Mike Cameron.
Obviously, Pedroia and his laser show will be needed for the rest of the series against the Giants, who will send hurlers Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum this weekend.
