The Bruins continued their preseason slate on Saturday for the second straight game against the Florida Panthers. And for the second straight time, the B’s fell 3-2. Saturday’s affair was a bit different though. The Bruins, at home instead of Buffalo, NY like Thursday’s game, fell in a shootout, making their preseason record 1-1-1.
Rookie Tyler Seguin and former Panther Nathan Horton each scored their first goal with the Bruins as the team raced to a 2-0 lead in the second period. Unfortunately for the B’s, the Panthers returned the favor, scoring two in the third to force overtime.
Radek Dvorak and Kenndel McArdle scored for Florida off Tuukka Rask, who stopped 26 of the 28 shots he faced.
In the shootout, Patrice Bergeron scored for Boston, but Ryan Spooner and Seguin each were unsuccessful. Florida’s Mike Santorelli and Cory Stillman, on the other hand, each scored in the shootout to seal the win.
The B’s next hit the ice on Tuesday against Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals.
