Celtics center Shaquille O’Neal (or should we call him “Blackie Bulger“?) has apparently applied for his gun license in Sudbury, according to a Channel 5 report. Shaq stopped by the Sudbury Police Department to pick up his permit, but officers wouldn’t confirm that fact.
“Shaq stopped by the police station sometime last week. It was not related to any police work. He just wanted to introduce himself,” said Lt. Scott Nix.
Shaq has served in law enforcement in Miami, Virgina, and Cleveland, so this could be a firs step in him wanting to join a local police force in the area.
He recently purchased a home in Sudbury for $3 million, so applying for a gun license there makes sense. It’s also worth noting that Shaq dubbed himself “Blackie Bulger: The Godfather of Sudbury” for a short time, before dropping the nickname because he didn’t want to hurt any alleged victims of Whitey Bulger.
Would you want to be pulled over by Officer Shaq in the future? I think it might be worth the speeding ticket.
