9:02pm – BU drops to 4-4 on the year and Kentucky improves to 5-1. Holland leads BU scorers with 20, Griffin has 13 & Partin 11

9:00pm – the UK reserve gets to the ft line and hits em both… wow fans stand up. 91-57 as the buzzer sounds… we suck? up next for BU are the Bucknell Bison

8:57pm – UK just toying with us! they give it up on a terrible pass and still get back to make a block on our fastbreak! what an athletic play from the UK reserves… and one of them even gets an open DUNK. wow…. back to the drawing boards..

8:53pm – 26% from the field guys? what happned to our shooting touch? unbelievable. at least against nova we showed up. today we forgot there are 2 halves of basketball…

8:51pm – 3:53 left in this one… BU needs to regroup after this laugher. Chambers can’t be happy

8:49pm – 84-48. i don’t feel like blogging anymore

8:46pm – this game just goes to show the disparity between America East and the SEC

8:45pm – Brandon Knight making it look effortless, as he cruises all the way down the court with an easy bucket. BU getting blown out big… wtf happened guys?

8:42pm – BU still hustling for loose balls, but UK ends up with another 3pointer. bang! UK up big, 74-45

8:39pm – John Holland hasn’t scored a point in over 15 minutes…and he finally delivers a three 71-45 BU

8:38pm – we have passed the midway point of the half, and BU is down 28. O’Brien hits a couple ft’s as he is fouled on a jumper

8:37pm – BU hung tough for the first half, but in order to upset a top 25 team, you have to capitalize on ALL opportunities and BU definitely left some possessions empty.

8:36pm – David vs. Goliath here… bad passes for BU, missed shots, bad clock management, etc. down 30

8:32pm – 11:45 to play and UK has busted this one open BIG TIME. 68-40 UK is dominating BU… what happened Terriers? we have completely lost it in the 2nd half

8:30pm – ANOTHER three by Kentucky. wow, UK wake up call has been received and acknowledged. 25-5 run by UK

8:28pm – The onslaught continues!! the UK center with a bullet pass! BU has given up, down 24 with 13:51 to play in this game. Chambers uses another timeout

8:27pm – the lead has grown to 22pts, BU has gone to the 2-3 zone to slow down the cats

8:24pm – 2nd half scoring UK 17 BU 3. That won’t cut it…. blowout city

8:23pm – UK is relentless on both sides of the ball, blanketing D, a barrage of threes and Pat Chambers gets a Tfoul. This game is donezo

8:21pm – Another BU turnover, missed shot, and a 12-0 run by UK. Finally Partin hits a 3 to stop the bleeding, but Terrence Jones with the nice right hand finish to extend the lead 54-36

8:18pm – BU has taken some DEEP three pointers… they may have been in Corey Lowe range… but that was unlimited. BU needs to work on getting open shots and stop forcing up bad field goals

8:17pm – A quick 7-0 run by UK and this game has been most likely put out of reach. 47-33 UK leads. Chambers calls timeout

8:16pm – Some good stops by the UK defense, and a quick layup from Liggins. BU struggling on the offensive end and Irving picks up his 3rd foul

8:15pm – Terrence Jones with a great ball fake, and he draws the foul for some ft’s

8:14pm – 2nd half almost underway… cmon BU.. play a good first 4min and get back in this game! Partin opens up with a missed three, but a foul on UK

8:10pm – awaiting the 2nd half tipoff.. BU needs to play lockdown D and hit some of those open 3′s in order to get back in this game… can the Terriers do it?

8:08pm – live look-in on the Florida practice.. Billy Donovan’s gelled hair is amazing, slicked back and all… i wonder what brand he uses?

8:05pm- BU should adopt Michigan State and Tom Izzo’s “misdirection” offense. watching replays now… pretty effective!

8:03pm – Jeter to the Red Sox? and the Big East will add another team next year, as TCU joins from Conf USA

8:00pm – America East colleague New Hampshire is giving UConn a run for their money…. UNH leads with 7min to play in their game at Gampel Pavilion

7:59pm – Did you Duke star Kyrie Irving is the son of BU great Drederick Irving? Drederick is arguably one of the top 2 players in BU history next to Tunji Awojobi

7:58pm – UK is shooting 56% from the field and BU is at the 32% mark, Holland leads with 14pts & Jones and Brandon Knight have 10 each for UK

7:57pm – This could have easily been a closer game, as UK leads 40-33 at the break. BU had several chances to cut the lead to one possession, but the stiff UK defense has kept BU on the ropes

7:56pm – under 30 sec left, UK with the ball.. TOUGH shot by Terrence Jones, and he banks in the runner. tough way to end the half, UK up by 7 at the half.

7:55pm – Last BU possession of the half, and Griffin is trapped but fouled. he goes to the line for 1 in 1

7:53pm – BU blows a fast break opportunity, and UK capitalizes on the fast break, and a foul on the jumper.

7:52pm – teams trade baskets, and UK lead reamins at 6. Partin drives and is fouled 1 in 1 for the WA native guard. he makes the 1st and 2nd one coming. BU hanging tough at UK up 35-31, with under 1min left

7:51pm – Morris scores underneath and is fouled, lead trimmed to 6pts

7:50pm – O’Brien misses a three, nice off board by Dom Morris, but he loses it. Liggins lays it in on the fast break! Kentucky leads by 9 now

7:48pm – both teams careless with the ball, 8 turnovers for UK and 6 for the Terriers

7:45pm – it’s a race up and down the court… Knight misses a drive… Griffin then misses a pull up jumper. UK with another turnover as we hit the under 4min mark. 3:57 left to play, 31-24 UK leads. Holland with 14 early pts and Doron Lamb has 8

7:44pm – Both teams score, a runner by Jones and fast break three by Griffin. BU fails to cut the lead below 6 on their next possession, and Hazel commits a loose ball foul. Cats at the line for 1 in 1

7:43pm – UK promptly answers with 2 quick baskets… lead is back to 28-21. Several easy misses underneath for BU and Dom Morris commits a foul

7:42pm – what an alley oop!! Griffin to holland for the flush!! Calipari is FRUSTRATED!

7:41pm – Liggins at the line and gets 1/2 to extend the UK lead to 5pts.. Terriers miss on their end, but UK throws the ball away again!

7:40pm – off the missed UK three, matt griffin dives and commits a loose ball foul, still UK ball

7:39pm – Partin off the back iron, and UK has possession up 4pts

7:38pm – Up next for these Terriers is Bucknell and UK takes on Winthrop, this upcoming Saturday

7:36pm – what a tough shot by Partin!! a bump and a leaner! count it and 1, much to the chagrin of Calipari, his team is up 23-19 as we are at the under 8min automatic timeout. Partin will shoot 1 when we return!

7:35pm – another steal by holland and flush!!!! 4pt lead now

7:33pm – both Coaches have warnings for arguing ref calls so far.. Partin on the drive gets hacked. Holland buries a corner three. 21-15 cats on top

7:31pm – 1/2 for Liggins. BU needs to work on ball control and getting open shots.. Dom Morris misses the runner but Kentucky throws it away again, and DJ Irving gives it right back on the offensive foul

7:30pm – BU’s zone defense isn’t working. Liggins drives through the lane and is fouled again. UK back to the charity stripe

7:29pm – 20-12 UK leads… BU turns it over once again. this one is looking bleak from the start

7:27pm – up and down the court we go… Calipari is upset! his team seems very nonchalant out there. BU fails to capitalize on the mistakes though, as UK is back to the line

7:25pm – O’Brien misses a trey, but Travis Robinson is fouled on the rebound. timeout on the floor, 11:54 left to play. BU down 6

7:24pm – both shots go for John, but nice ball reversal on the following UK possession results in a swished three from Knight. 18-12 lead for UK

7:11pm – Terrence Jones with an easy bucket inside, 2-0 UK. Holland fouled on a deep jumper. 3 ft’s for the senior, BU leads 3-2, 18:35 left

7:10pm – Partin misses the long 3, Kentucky rebound… and Hazel commits a foul on a Knight drive

7:09pm – Kentucky wins tip, BU opens with 1-2-2 and a prompt turnover!

7:08pm – no injuries for UK, Jeff Pelage the only one hurt for BU. He played at Pine Crest in FL with Kentucky star Brandon Knight

7:04pm – the last time out, the Terriers struggled against Cornell early, but pulled out the Victory 66-61. Last season, the Big Red faced Kentucky in the Sweet 16 as a #12 seed. They hung tough but eventually faltered to the John Wall led Wildcats

7:03pm – 10/13 of the current BU players were not on the team last year… only Holland, O’Brien & Pelage are returnees from last seasons’ squad

6:51pm – okkk back on track now! Last year 5 BU Terrier players averaged double figures: Corey Lowe, John Holland, Carlos Strong, Tyler Morris & Jake O’Brien, but this year we only have two Terriers that are eclipsing the 10+ point mark per game, John Holland at 17.9ppg and Daryl Partin at 10.3ppg

6:44pm – Partin is coming off a career high 32 pts against the Cornell Big Red. The Terriers have notched five 20+ games this year, 2 by Holland, and 1 each by O’Brien, Partin & Matt Griffin

6:35pm – Coach Calipari is still in mourning, following the recent death of his mother, Donna, this past Monday. Calipari is the reigning National Coach of the Year, leading his future NBA stars from last season including John Wall, Eric Bledsoe & DeMarcus Cousins to the Elite 8, where they were upset by Bob Huggins’ West Virginia Mountaineers

6:32pm – The 1959 NCAA tournament, where BU defeated NAVY marks the last time in history that BU has defeated a ranked opponent. Can the Terriers make history tonight once again??? We will find out in 28 short minutes!

6:26pm – The Terriers (4-3) on the season are coming off two straight victories against Nevada and Cornell, while the Kentucky Wildcats (4-1) are coming off a 17 point defeat courtesy of the Kemba Walker led UConn squad, at the finale of the Maui Invitational
